At Omni-ID, we have chosen to make our trusted technology available for broader use, through our global technology licensing program.

The Omni Global Technology Licensing Program (OGTL), first unveiled in 2012 in response to high interest in our game-changing innovations for on-metal or near-liquid RFID, is a way of accessing the technologies that comprise our patented plasmonic structure in ways that benefit your own development and solutions.

Traditional tags use antennas that don’t work when placed near metal or many liquids. We hold patents US7880619 and US7768400, also covering Europe and Asia, for our plasmonic structure design, which leverages layers of conductors and dielectrics to isolate the RF from the tag’s surrounding environment and avoid this problem.

Licensing agreements have been signed with companies including SATO of Japan, a leader in barcode printing, labeling and EPC/RFID solutions. As a result, new and innovative solutions have been introduced into the Japanese market.

As the original inventor, patent holder and supplier of high-performance, on-metal passive UHF RFID tags, Omni-ID is proud to continue to support the adoption of RFID worldwide through this program with our unique, commercially viable and successful enabling technology.
